Herbal Vitamins

Vitamins are organic molecules founds in food and needed by our bodies in small amounts and daily basis for growth, reproduction, and maintenance of good health and high levels of vitality. Natural herbal vitamins and remedies may be used to treat just about every possible illness, condition or to improve your diet, since they are much safer than those chemical products intended for the same, and they are mostly recommended by all holistic health care practitioners.

The herbal vitamins are also called dietary supplements and may be used safely as preventive health measure for their nutritional values. There are many types and compounds of herbal supplements on the market from single vitamin products to multi-vitamins added with minerals. The intake of these herbal vitamins may solve the problem of millions of people whose diet does not always include the proper nutrients to keep a healthy balance for their body.

Dietary supplements offer prevention of most illness and conditions, such as colds, nausea, insomnia, depression, headaches, anxiety, arthritis and many others, being an extraordinary aid to maintain good health. Herbal vitamins are manufactured from parts of specific plants, such as seeds, roots, stems, bark, leaves, berries or flowers, and they are not necessarily processed as capsules or pills, in fact they are mostly recommended as drinkable herb teas or by a mix that can be dropped with water or fruit juice.

Many people believe that herbal vitamins come from exotic herbs and fruits, but they are actually derived from those rare plants, legacy of ancient cultures that form herbs used in most kitchens every day. As in example parsley, commonly known for its use as a garnish, but is rich in vitamin B complex, vitamin C, beta-carotene, calcium, potassium, iron, folate, sulfur and phosphorus. Some fruits, legumes and spices are also considered as herbal vitamins, including cranberry which is a source of vitamin C and flavonoids, alfalfa, rich in protein, vitamin B complex, vitamin D, vitamin C, vitamin E and vitamin K, as well as minerals and 8 essential amino acids, chili peppers, providing vitamin C, minerals and beta-carotene, papaya, which not only contains papain, an enzyme similar to pepsin, but also vitamin B complex, provitamin A (beta-carotene), and vitamin C. Chickweed, is a very nourishing culinary herb containing vitamin A, vitamin C, and minerals, while fenugreek, a spice most commonly use Indian food is also rich in vitamin A, vitamin D, and protein.

Other herbal vitamins have an ancient background, such as the seeds of the pumpkin, a traditional herbal remedy in China since remote times, rich of vitamin B complex and beta carotene, or comfrey, a healing herb used since the Roman times and containing vitamin B-12, vitamin C, vitamin E, carotene, zinc, iron, potassium, glycosides, essential oils, and other mineral salts and nutrients.
