Hoodia

Hoodia Patch Effectiveness and Scam Report

Hoodia is a plant that grows wild in the Kalahari desert. The indigenous people of South Africa for many years have used the plant on long hunting and gathering trips to suppress thirst and hunger. Through modern technology research it is considered that the strain of Hoodia named Hoodia Gordonii, contains the active ingredient that can be used for weight loss. There are many ways to digest Hoodia Gordonii, through a capsule form, liquid forms, teas or in food products. One of the new ways to get this supplement for weight loss in the body is through the skin.

Hoodia Patch

Transdermal Technology is the penetration of ingredients through the skin. The skin being the human body's largest organ. Oral pills can up to hours to reach one's system and can lose its potency through the process. Ingredients applied through the skin are absorbed into the body immediately and evenly. Transdermal or patch technology has been used for many other reasons such as birth control, quitting smoking, fever relief and more. The benefit of a patch is the product is dispensed evenly and a person does not need to remember to take oral pills at just the right time. Each patch contains approximately 500mg of Hoodia Gordonii stem and 2mg of Guarana Extract and there are a month's supply of patches in a box, in a patch product such as Hoodia Patch by Premier Marketing.

The patch with the star ingredient Hoodia Gordonii, works to suppress appetite and tricks the brain into thinking the body is already full, eliminating cravings for snacks. In patch form, it is supposed to leach into the body at a faster rate than with traditional digestive absorption. Used together with a healthy and nutritionally sound diet and routine exercise, Hoodia Gordonii can reduce weight.

While their are many believers in the benefits of Hoodia Gordonii, there are limited believers in the patch containing the supplement of the same name. One mention is that skin patches have gone through very critical and demanding scientific testing before the product is finally approved and ready to become available to the public. Most of the time requiring a prescription for the patch product, there is no prescription required for any Hoodia patch product. The Hoodia patch product has had none of this done. Also, the Bushmen of the Kalahari desert who have used this plant for thousands of years, do not absorb the product through a patch but rather skin the spiny cactus-like plant and eat the core of it. If you look at Phytopharm's website, you will see the statement: Only Phytopharm's patented Hoodia gordonii product is botanically verified to contain pure Hoodia gordonii and has quantified levels of the chemical constituents that produce the anti-obesity effects. The patch maker can not make such a claim because it would not be true. Another mention is that there is no certification or licensing or Hoodia Gordonii testing done by an independent lab being done for the patch product. This should make a buyer weary since there are many counterfeits for sale on the market as well as true Hoodia Gordonii products can provide proof of authenticity and certification from CITES, the organization that governs importing and exporting of Hoodia Gordonii. In fact, there are many websites on the Internet that state the Hoodia patch is not worth bothering with or that it is nothing but a desperate attempt to capitalize on the current huge demand and interest in Hoodia Gordonii.
